올해 초 한창 스마트폰을 살까 말까 고민하던 그 때,
In the beginning of this year, I really thought a lot of times whether I would by a smart phone or not,

이런 저런 재밌는 어플을 찾아보다가 봤었던 foursquare.
I searched what applications are good and fun. Then I found 'foursquare'.

그때만 해도 그냥 위치 알려주고 웹에 올리는 서비스인가 보다라고 단순하게 생각하고 넘어갔으나,
I thought it that it just informs where I am and upload the location to web.

엊그제 야후에서 1200 억 인수가를 책정하고 인수경쟁에 뛰어들은 기사를 본 후
But, I read a news article that Yahoo suggested 100 million dollars to merge the foursquare.

다시 살펴 봤는데 와 이건 놀랍기 그지 없구나.
So, I took a look it again. And I got a big surprise!

해당 위치가 어떤 레스토랑, 백화점 뭐 등등이라면 그곳으로 부터 광고를 받을 수 있는 건
충분히 예상가능 했던 거였는데,
I think everyone can predict that foursquare will show lots of commercial promotions of restaurants or department store which locate at some location.

어떤 위치를 가게 되거나 몇번 이상 올리거나 하게 되면 무언가를 Unlock 하고
그에 해당하는 보상아이템 Badge 를 준다.
In addition, foursquare gives a reward item 'Badge' to users if the user unlock a hidden achievement by reaching some place and uploading something.

그리고 그렇게 많이 하면서 Badge 도 많이 모으고, 명성도 쌓고 그러면 Mayor 가 되는
Moreover, as the user gathers lots of Badges, a reputation of the user is getting higher so that the user can be a mayor.

아니 이건 실제생활에 Collection 개념의 MMO 를 접목한거자나!!!
What a great system! This is a real life MMO to collect something!


여기서부턴 내 생각인데, (물론 그들도 이미 생각했고 개발중이거나 서비스 중이겠지만)
And now this is my thought, (Of course, I think they already thought this or development it or service it)

사용자들에게 특정 퀘스트를 설정할 수 있게 하고, 전혀 모르는 사람이 그곳에 도달해서
Just let people create a quest and anyone can reach the location then unlock (clear) the quest.

무언가를 Unlock 하면 서로 아이템을 주고, 뭐 이런 게임시스템을 도입할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라
Then the user (or both - including the quest creator) will get a reward item like a typical MMORPG.

나아가서 Party 를 맺어서 특별한 장소에서 모임을 가져서 Unlock 을 한다거나
Moreover, people combine a party and a guild to go some special place.

더 커져서 길드가 될 수도 있고 또는 학교 조직, 회사 조직원들이 될 수도 있고
Students in school or worker in offices can do this as well.

나중에 Badge 를 거래도 되게 하고, 거래 게시판도 만들고 ㅎㅎㅎ
Then they can trade their Badges. There will be an auction in foursquare. LOL.

이거 완전 실제생활 MMORPG 인거야!!!
That a real life MMORPG!!!

심지어 foursquare 의 가장 큰 장점은 전세계에서 동시에 일어난다는 것! 이 얼마나 큰 시장인가!
The biggest thing of foursquare is all issues are occurring simultaneously in the world!
What a big market!

와 나 이거 하고 싶어 ㅠㅠ

근데 그럴려면 스마트폰 사야하고... 근데 지금 사기엔 아이폰 4G 가 곧 발표될테고...
But, to play it I should buy a smart phone... but iPhone 4G will be announced soon...

아 쫌만 참자. 아이폰 4G 보고 결정하자.
Ah~~~ okay okay. let me endure more. Decide it after I see iPhone 4G.
